Many wish to see the rainbow in the sky and enjoy the colors and beauty of it in a mild rainy and sunny sky. But do you have ever experienced the beauty of the northern lights or southern lights? People who live in the southern and northern poles might have experienced this every night. It is a common event that happens every night in this region. Getting to know more about this event is more important. Let's see the flashback and enjoy it.

WHAT ARE THE NORTHERN LIGHTS?

Northern Lights are also known as Aurora Borealis. Southern lights are also known as Aurora Australis. The credits for this name were jointly used by Galileo Galilei and Pierre Gassendi. These two people witnessed this event on September 12, 1621. This topic is a combination of many scientists exploring this event. Kristian Birkeland was the first person to discover the theory behind these natural lights.

Sun is the starting point of this beautiful event. As we all know sun's core has high temperature and pressure. Many hydrogen particles inside the sun join to form helium. The hot winds are surrounded by the sun. These hot winds come to the surface of the sun when nuclear fission happens. The hot winds try to move out of the sun and roam freely in space. For this, it uses a brilliant idea. It moves towards the sun and starts stretching out like a rubber band. Finally, the idea executed will be a successful one. Earth is a kind-hearted person who always attracts everybody towards him either good or bad. When this hot wind gets attracted towards it, this fights with the force around the earth, and nearly 75% of the hot wind escapes, and the other 25% gets attach to the north and south pole of the earth. This hot wind again reacts with oxygen and nitrogen present in the atmosphere of the earth. During this reaction, a huge amount of energy is released which is seen in the form of lights. Mostly it occurs in green, red, and sometimes in greenish-yellow too. Even sound is emitted during this light emission. You can see this in the north pole and south pole of the earth. People in this region love this but it is a quite common event as a star in the sky.

The color of the lights is determined by the chemical reaction it takes place. To make it more eligible for our brain, the color is determined by the crashing of certain element generates the color. You hear northern lights sound on many websites. Even can see the northern lights on Youtube, Google, etc.
