MOON
Moon is something we have been seeing from our childhood till now. Moon is a natural satellite of the earth. It is the largest natural satellite and the fifth largest satellite in our solar system. Solar systems begin with a huge blast which is usually named as Big bang theory. We might have learned many things about the solar system in every class we pass. Even we have learned about how many moons do other planets in the solar system have. We try to remember it easily but it feels complicated. We squeeze our brain and finally, the moons count come to the brain but when you write it on paper you forget everything. Do you know how the natural satellite was formed, the moon?
FORMATION OF MOON
Moon has formed only 4.5 million years ago after the solar system formed. A big bang gave rise to many planets in our solar system. The planets were forming their shape, color, texture which we see now. Due to gravitational force earth started attracting the dust and other materials towards it and formed an atmosphere. The earth wasn't like we see today, it was outer structure looked rocky, molten, and dusty. Mars-like planet named Theia had a giant-impact hypothesis which is also known as big splash or Theia impact with proto-Earth. When Theia and Earth collided, the moon formed from the ejecta after this collision that considered to be taken after 20 to 100 million years of solar system formation. Then due to the gravity and relativity theorem, the moon started its duty of revolving around the earth. Till now many spaceships, rockets have landed on the moon and recorded many achievements too. Nearly 6 mission has been sent to the moon and Apollo 11 which carried an achievement recording person named Neil Armstong.
BLUE MOON AND STRAWBERRY MOON
Blue moon was a recent topic in 2018 March month. Everybody was in great excitement to see the moon in blue color. There is a reason behind this strawberry moon. Every month we will have a full moon. But when there are two full moons, the second full moon in the month is known as the blue moon. How moon change its color to blue or red? As we have all studies about the diffusion, refraction of light in 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, and even more in higher studies, the moon also this theorem. Earth's atmosphere is made of different types of materials. When sunlight enters through the earth's atmosphere, the light gets refracted and scatter in different directions. The blur band is visible in the moon which makes the moon blue. The next blue moon is on August 22, 2021.
Strawberry moon is just a name due to the season of strawberry in North America. June month is a great season for strawberries from that the moon was named as Strawberry moon and it even had a light pinkish color on its surface. This strawberry moon is picturized in the sky on June 24, 2021.
Even a blue moon is used to describe any rare or unusual event. We too use the word 'Once in a Blue Moon' which states that it is rare or unusual.
