GHOST


Ghost is something that fears which usually be in a terror or ugly face. Many horror movies were published these days. More than older movies, recent ghost movies make the ghost realistic with graphics and sounds. According to belief, there are many types of followers for a ghost. One loves ghosts and believes in ghosts. Other one doesn't believe the survival of ghost and don't see ghost movies. Some don't believe it but wish to see ghost movies. The one and only colony for Ghost is in Chennai. Demonte Colony. Even a Kollywood movie was released with this name.

DEMONTE COLONY


Demonte Colony was named after Demonte. Demonte was a Portuguese businessman who came to India 200 years ago. During this British has entered India and did not yet capture it. He comes to Chennai and continues his business. He earns more money and was eager in spending money on charity. He often gives Charity to nearby churches. He was a generous person too. Then he was married to a foreign woman and continued his life smoothly. As time passed, his wife was turning mad or going through mental illness. She used to walk in the road due to her illness and doesn't where she goes. Demonte is searching for her wife and is fully depressed. Then Church men saw his wife in Kovalam and took her to her husband. For this Demonte built a church in Kovalam as a gift. Then soon mental illness vanished and a son was born to this couple. He plans to send his son to Germany for higher studies. He sends him. Again, Demonte's wife turns mad. She is moving badly day by day. Demonte sends a letter to his son to convey her mother's illness message. After a few weeks, a reply letter reaches. The letter says that A great condolence for Demonte's wife. But unfortunately, your son died. Hearing this he was completely shaken and was under extreme pressure. He then gives all his property to the church and dies in a mysterious way. Some say that Demonte died due to a gas blast in his house. But it is not confirmed. Many houses are situated but none lives here. Churchmen ask many industrialists to keep their headquarters and employee quarters here. They will come here but move soon by getting some sort of fearful movement. Many started saying ghost stories and even some say that they saw an English girl chasing them in the night. Many say that they have seen Demonte Ghost in this place. Hearing this Church demolished all the houses and started recreating this place. Now, it has turned to the car parking area and many other amendments. A park at the ending of the colony was built by Demonte and was called Demonte Park. But after political fluctuation, this name was changed to Kalaignar Karunanidhi Park. It is said that he has created many streets like this and owned half of the Madras.
